Am I the only one that e-mails companies when they air insulting things?
I am guessing not too many people do, since it keeps happening.
The worst, of course, is seeing the name of God abused (3rd commandment). Notable repeat offenders of this are:
Best Buy
Kia Motors
Ikea
Best Buy is by far the worst. Each year around Christmas they air commercials where they repeatedly scream out abuses of the name of God. How ironic that they do this during the season to celebrate His name, not dishonour it. I e-mail every year, and they still air them. They always reply that nobody else complains. I think that is saddest of all. That the 3rd commandment is broken so often that people don't even recognize it. I even hear people in my church doing this. I hope that my conscience never gets so seared that it does not notice when His name is being abused.
Now there is a commercial from Purina that uses the expression "Thank Dog!". Reducing God to the level of a mutt.
And of course you have just the plain insulting commercials:
Kia Motors - reducing women to sex perverts while insulting the police

Homosexual Suicides
All suicides are tragic. They indicate that people are without hope. Hope is the one thing that the Gospel gives to everyone.
But then all the people wanting to use suicide as a weapon in their political cause come out of the woodwork, looking for ammunition in their zealousness.
Lots of teens have issues. Many of these issues cause them to act out in certain ways. Many teens are not taught that they were created by God and are unique and loved by Him. Many are not taught about morals, the law, heaven, hell, and their eternal souls. Many are taught that they are accidents of nature, the result of random goo, the descendents of rocks. Not uniquely created with purpose and an eternal destiny. Others have medical issues and suffer from clinical depression.
Now, when their meaningless existence is questioned, and they find no answers, some tragically take their own lives. Then people start trying to figure out why, and then they make assumptions to suit their own political agenda. If the teen was struggling with sexuality the homosexuals will claim that the reason they took their own life was because they were homosexuals. Although we have never lived in a time where homosexuality was more embraced and celebrated (sadly). They don't look for the reasons for their stuggles, they use one thing from this person's life to claim as the reason.
What caused the sexual struggles in these teens? Was it divorced parents? Abusive or missing father figure? No, you cannot criticize abandoning your covenants to your spouse and children. That could not be the cause!
Was it being picked on at school for their body type, or their weight? No, that could not be it.
Was it feeling left out at school, and not having a church community that would embrace and uplift the child regularly? No, that would mean making an effort to spend time with the child around loving families.
Was it the constant criticism from the parents for not getting higher grades, or doing more around the house, without any praise for the things they did well?
It seems like so many people look to homosexuality, and blame that rather than the cause of it.
This is a serious issue. We need to stop being politically correct, and look at the REAL causes of the problems, not attcking the symptoms. Let's raise these children with the hope and promise of eternal glory. The knowledge that God created them and loves each one of them more than they could ever realize. Get back to the basics. Honour God. Honour your covenant to your spouse. Honour your children.

W5 - The duped church.
I watched W5 on the weekend - strictly to see the story on Pete McLeod, the youngest pilot in the Red Bull Air Race, who I know.
However, the first story was about people in a church who lost money investing in something that was too good to be true. This included the church pastor, who invested $15,000 and lost it all.
There was a woman who borrowed $7,500 in order to invest in this get rich quick scheme. She had no money, so applied for - and received a loan - in order to invest. Now that her investment scheme didn't pan out, she is whining about having to pay back the loan. Like the company that helped her out by lending her the money should pay for her foolish decision.
She said "I owe $7,500 and I got nothing for it!" Wow, that was a lie. Isn't lying a sin? You actually got $7,500 from the lender, not nothing. You threw it away on a get rich quick scheme. That is not the lender's fault. It is none of the lender's business what you do with your money. You qualified for the loan, they loaned you the money, and you gave it away. What if you instead used the money for a medical operation for a family member? If the operation does not go well, and the patient dies - do you then expect not to pay back the loan? No, you got your loan, and now you have to repay it.
They showed a sermon the pastor was giving, and he was talking about money. OK, everyone note, this man is not qualified to give advice on money to anyone. His messages should be targeting greed, and taking responsibility for your poor choices. Not blaming others for your mistakes. That is the role of the heathen.
If this is a Christian church, you are supposed to be an honest person and live up to your word. You borrowed money, and promised - in writing - to repay it at a specified interest rate. You need to honour you word. You also need to read what the Bible says about borrowing money. Had you followed what you claim to follow you would not have made the choices you did. The love of money is not a good thing, and it certainly should not be promoted from any pulpit.
It is this kind of story that really makes a black mark on the church. It is bad enough your greed allowed you to get taken advantage of, but you then intentionally try to harm others who were there to help you when you asked for help.
This is not the action of someone walking in the truth.

Miners Rescue
Tonight the last of the 33 miners has been rescued. Praise God!
What has really been the most beautiful aspect of the Chilean people, is how they are not ashamed nor persecuted for speaking freely about their love for God. What lovely people. So many were wearing T-shirts praising God, and quoting Psalm 95. In this country they would be ridiculed and mocked for having such strong faith.
Thank you Chili ... for showing us how a grateful, God fearing nation, full of humble yet courageous people act in the face of tragedy. We have much to learn about life from these people. It is in the face of tragedies like this, that people examine their lives - and their eternity.
Thank you CNN for allowing Larry King to talk during the most important discussion taking place between the President and the Foreman just rescued. Larry - that was rude. We don't care what you think. Then to totally pollute the evening by airing someone whose name is not worthy to even be mentioned in the same context. He is obese, foul-mouthed, and lives by making untrue documentaries. What a contrast to the Chilean culture. This obese liar, thinks that his faith is truth, and everyone else is an idiot. He mocks that which he doesn't understand. He actually believes that life came from non-life, and he mocks others who are more intellectually sound, including those courageous Chilean people.Way to go Larry, you ruined the end of a remarkable event.

The Train is coming ...
.
Many people refuse to accept that there is a God, and that they will face Him and His wrath one day.
That is very much like standing on a train track ... feeling the vibrations, seeing the light, but denying there is a train approaching. Whether you believe in the train or not, when it hits you - it will be too late to then say "OK now I believe". When you die, you will face God, and whether you believe He exists or not, will be irrelevant. He does exist, and He will judge you, and His standard is perfection. He will either pour out His wrath on you, or on a substitute. That substitute is Jesus. He died, so that His blood will pay the price for every single transgression and sin. You need only repent, and trust in Jesus.
We will either be a praise offering to God in heaven, or a burnt offering to Him in hell.
No matter what, you will praise God for all eternity. I urge you to stop suppressing what you know to be true, and experience the real meaning of life.
To glorify God, and enjoy Him forever.
The train is coming ... it could be any moment ...

National Geographic can't suppress the Thuth
I just watched a video clip by National Geographic where they were dissecting a Giraffe.
Throughout the clip the "scientists" are just amazed at the design of the animal.
At the end of the clip the scientist explaining all the design features (Graham Mitchell) exclaims:
"Couldn't be more beautifully designed!"
Then there was a long pause, and it looked like he caught the eye of someone off camera, and then he sheepishly said "evolved.".
What a hilarious clip. He couldn't even hide his own amazement at the wonder of God's design.
Thank you National Geographic.
Finally, a word of truth.

Obama [peace be upon him]
What is Obama [the hypocritical heathen]'s view on abortion?
"Abortion should be safe, legal, and rare."
Safe? Not for the victim.
Legal? Not according to God's law.
Rare? Why, unless it IS a baby?
Then he goes on to talk about a family needs to "struggle" with the decision. Why is it a struggle if it is just a wart, or a blob of tissue? It is a struggle, and it should be rare - specifically because you KNOW it is a baby.
The hypocrisy around this issue is stifling.
As is the hypocrisy of a person like Obama claiming to be a follower of Jesus. It is nauseating just putting your name in the same sentence with the God you mock with your actions.
He is a universalist. He doesn't even understand the gospel.
Repent, Obama, Repent.

Universalism
I was trying to think of a single word synonym for the word universalism ... and the best I could come up with is "illogical". Perhaps "dumb" should be a contender as well.
The idea that contradictory beliefs can both be true is nothing more than absurd. But throw in some Oprah and a dash of Dr. Phil and pretty soon you start believing anything - no matter how absurd.
If two people have opposing views they both cannot be true.
It is almost as ridiculous as all those famous people calling themselves "Christians" while they live in deliberate and intentional sin.
Like the talk show hosts that are living with another person they are not married to, whilst expousing anti-Christian rhetoric and thinking she knows more than Jesus when it comes to matters of spirituality.
Then there is Obama - peace be upon him - who funds the killing of babies both born and unborn ... and calls the miracle of life a "punishment".
Or actors who claim to have been saved, yet continue to beat their wives and continue to live a life of debauchery.
Yet is anyone calling these people what they obviously are? Hypocrites.

Character
Do you have someone in your life that you look up to?
Would you consider them to be a person of character?
Do they live up to their word, regardless of cost?
Do they honour their wife? Would they die rather than pervert their covenant?
I have been blessed to have had men of character mentor me when I was a young man. Had this not be the case, I would certainly be in a real mess today. I was once headed down a road that tried to entice me regularly into deceit, corruption, and darkness. Thankfully, I was able to recognize this and I made difficult decisions which - looking back - could only have been guided by the hand of God.
If I had sacrificed my integrity, honour, and character ... for the shallow, selfishness that this world offers, what a dark place I would be in today. I would have lowered myself to the level of the kinds of people I despised. Those who would lie, cheat, steal, and betray colleagues - while looking them in the eye, and smiling as they do it.
But, the most painful at the time was the lost of what I mistakenly thought were solid friendships. However, looking back, I realize they didn't know what a friend even is. So in hindsight I am grateful for the fact that I was awakened in time to preserve my integrity. Praise God!
This was confirmed for me when I met an old friend for lunch one day. He made different choices, and had ended up where I may have been had I stayed on that deadly course. I was so excited to have been shown the 'other path' ... and what I was saved from by making ethical choices. What a joyous day that was. I still remember practically bouncing back to my car ... but feeling sad for my old friend.
The reward for being a man of honour, was and is - incredible blessing after blessing. Don't get me wrong, I am not a good person either ... in fact I am a Wretch. Thankfully one that is saved ...

Oberammergau Passion Play
For the first time in history, in 2010, this famous play is being "watered down" because of political correctness. They are changing the historical account of the passion, because some people have complained that it is antisemitic.
How sad. Another death at the hands of the love of deceit. It is ironic that they don't try to change that the Messiah was born a Jew, but they try to pretend that the Saviour was crucified by some Jews. Well, you can't have it both ways. If you try to change the history of Jewish people then you are just opening the doors for the equally ignorant people who try to deny the holocaust.
Well, Jesus was born a Jew, and it was His plan that He be sacrificed for "the few" that would repent and trust in Him, and Him alone. So the fact that some of the people responsible for His plan taking place, just means that He wanted to use them in this way. We should be protecting TRUTH at all cost, not caving to every little whiner who has a chip on their shoulder.
Instead of trying to change history, why not look at what history has taught us?
The truth WILL set you free.

Stem Cell Myth
Obama's latest evidence of being evil, like we need more, now he is trying to get to fund embryonic stem cell research. Why not profit from his massive slaughtering of the pre-born and the born but not wanted?
Stem cell research is important, but every single discovery from stem cell research has come from ADULT stem cells. The news reports Obama calls this research "life-saving". How ironic.
He not only funds abortion, but repealed the ban on aborting babies during delivery, and even refused to protect babies already born. Babies that were put in closets to die. Well done Obama. You have once again shown your lack of morals and character. Americans appear to be the most gullible people on the planet .... believing that he in any way represents Jesus. If they don't hold him accountable for slaughtering babies, they sure won't care if he lies about his delusions of morality.
Thankfully the courts stopped his latest attacks on the pre-born.

Obama a muslim? A Christian?
Obama - peace be upon him - claims to be a Christian. Many people who clearly live contrary to the teachings of the Bible claim to be Christians, but being a Christian means something very specific. It is not subjective.
You cannot condone sin, nor can you live in sin, and you certainly cannot have pride in your sin (read the Bible Oprah). These are the people that Jesus says in Matthew 7 that claim to be what they are not ... and He says on judgment day "away from me you evil doers". Hell is their reward.
How many people do you know who claim to be a Christian but don't walk the talk? They fornicate, live together, take God's name in vain, don't worship corporately, don't tithe, hate other races, promote sin, embrace sin, and live in pride. Probably the biggest sin in scripture is pride, yet so many people living in darkness claim to be saved, and yet embrace themselves in denial and pride in their sin.
How do you know if someone is a Christian? Watch them. Listen to them. If they follow the teachings of Jesus, and they promote Godly things and speak out against sin, and support Biblical truth, then nobody would question their claims. If the walk doesn't match the talk - as is the clear case of Obama - peace be upon him - then we know that they are not saved. Your identity cannot be in Christ when you are immersed in sin. You cannot attend a racist church for 20 years - as he did - without condoning what is taught there.
For example, Obama - peace be up on him - clearly does not believe in the 10 commandments (God's Law). He condones the sin of killing the pre-born (6th commandment) but he actively promotes and even pays for it. He claims that there are more gods than the God that created the universe (1st commandment).
He claims that there are more paths to heaven than through Jesus (2nd commandment). He embraces the sin of homosexuality (7th commandment). He claims that he is a follower of Jesus (9th commandment).
Not only does he condone killing the pre-born, he was the only senator, in 4 separate votes, that would NOT sign a bill to protect babies born alive from botched abortions. He is not worthy to even be mentioned in the same sentence as Jesus.
Obama says one thing and does another. His walk does not match his talk. This is why people don't believe that he is saved. You will know a Christian by their fruit. I don't know if he is a muslim, but I know he is not a Christian. He can claim to be, but he could claim to be a woman as well ... it doesn't make it true.
His words and actions prove he is not. One CNN a broadcaster (who also claimed to be saved) was asking how people can know what is in his heart. What? Listen to his words. Look at his actions. He calls Jesus a liar. No Christian can call Jesus a liar, and claim to follow Him.
Pray for his salvation. If he does get saved, you will immediately know, because he will start speaking out against abortion, homosexual marriage, and false religions.
Pray for that.

7 Pounds
I watched this movie the other day.
In a word. Weird.
It was slow, and near the middle I was just wanting it to be over.
It was typical hollywood. People thinking about death without any consideration or concern for where they will be spending eternity. Not a single word about God, Heaven, or Hell.
The main character was driving while using his blackberry. His wife was in the car with him, and his distraction caused the deaths of several people. He was grieving his mistake, and the cost of his actions. Too bad he didn't experience the forgiveness and peace that is available to us all.
His last act was to kill himself.
So much talk about death, and the most important thing is not even mentioned, let alone discussed.
A sad commentary on the post modern, godless world we live in.
Truth matters. Words have meaning. Life is eternal. Hell is real.
Living in denial, and never talking about the most important things in life, is just plain sad.
In a word. Weird.

Tillman memorial
I happened to be listening to a memorial service for a soldier named Tillman, who was killed by friendly fire. I stopped the channel for a moment to listen to his brother paying "tribute" to his life. His language was profane, and filthy. He claimed his brother was not in heaven because he was not 'religious'. Expletives removed. What a sad way to be remembered. Filthy language. I hope no children were watching that.
How sad that a young man can be raised to not even know where you are if you are not in heaven. Whether you are religious or not, the choices are heaven through the saving blood of Jesus, or eternal torment in hell. Whether you believe it or not is irrelevant. You can stand on a train track and deny there is a train coming, but when t hits you - it will be too late to come to your senses.
Then this man's father spoke and said that his son respected religions, and that there is an awful lot of good that comes from them. Really? What good exactly comes from religion?
Then the father made this stunning statement:
"The bottom line is no one knows how everything in the world or everything anywhere was ever created. There's not a human being on this planet that has that answer."
Yes, there most certainly is! We absolutely do know the answer. We have God's FIRST HAND ACCOUNT. He doesn't lie, and He gave all who are open to the truth ... the truth. He thinks the lies about his son's death are bad, and they are, but they are nothing compared to the lie of evolution. No wonder he does not know the answer. Who could believe that fantasy.
It is so heart-breaking to see so many people so lost and so closed minded to the truth of God's law, love, and sacrifice.

Divorce
Do you know a couple that you thought were Christians, that got divorced? Is it possible that Christians divorce without one of them betraying the covenant with adultery?
What could the reasons possibly be for a divorce? You are unhappy? Marriage is never a promise of happiness ... in fact the VOWS are the exact opposite. You love one another no matter what the circumstances. Did you mean them? After all, happiness is a decision, and it is certainly not something promised to God's children. I understand if one or both are not saved, that is a no-brainer. But clearly divorce is not an option for people who are saved.
Marriage is supposed to be a covenant for life. If you can abandon that covenant, then why should God honour His covenant with you to save you? After all, marriage is an image of the Gospel.
If you don't honour your covenant with your spouse, then why should He honour His covenant with you?
Even some 'pastors' get divorced. Does that mean that one of them is not saved? How sad is that? And what about the Christian that knows the only way to get out of their covenant is to commit adultery who does that just to be able to justify getting a divorce?
I know someone who I thought was saved, a woman, who forced her husband to abandon the church that he loved, and wanted to be a pastor in. She refused to honour his role in the marriage, and because of a theological secondary issue, they left that church. That was concerning for me, since secondary issues are not that important, and certainly not worth challenging the role of the husband. But in time this same woman, and mother, thought that adultery was quite acceptable. Even with a so-called 'pastor'. She was so strict about secondary issues, but could not embrace the basic 10 commandments. She broken her covenant with her husband, and with God, and has shown by example to her children, a horrible way to live. Even worse, did not even try to repent or salvage her covenant. She turned her back on God, her husband, and her children.
You look at that situation, and you wonder how someone can focus on such a minor point in scripture, that many theologians don't even agree on, and yet the huge issues that affect every relationship you have, are casually dismissed.
Now the Calvinists would claim this person was never saved in the first place. Others would say she has backslidden and chosen to reject God and the covenant she once embraced. This is the kind of divorce that really breaks God's heart. One person is living an honest, open life for Him, the other is living a lie. It breaks my heart too. I hope the children look to their father as a role model. He has survived and continued to honour God, who is now blessing him and rewarding him.
The Calvinist would say that this was an unequally yoked marriage right from the start, even though they both claimed to be Christians when they were married. Others might suggest that the woman has chosen to reject God, reject her covenant with her husband, reject her covenant with God, and reject her responsibilities as a wife and a mother. It is a situation where Hebrews describes so strongly against.
It is easy to act honourably when things are going well. It is in the hard times that your character reveals itself. So much of divorce is pride and self. And what society in history has ever tried to justify pride and self-importance than today?

MONK
This TV series was about a detective who had OCD issues, and solved murders that stumped the police. It was quite funny in the early seasons, and we watched the 8th season 2-part series finale the other night.
It was a fairly decent show, but in the final seasons there appeared more and more abuses of God's name. Quite unnecessary, and really leaves a bad taste for the show overall. In fact the last 2-part episode was difficult to watch, there was so much swearing.
It is disappointing when people cannot write scripts without the needless swearing. They add nothing, and only serve to lower the already low standards that exist for television.
Normally when a series ends, you feel a little sad if it is a good one. But in this case it really was a blessing. It should have ended before the decision was made to lower their standards. It went from an excellent show to one I could barely stand to watch ... just by removing basic decency standards.
Whomever decided to pull the plug on this series ... I thank you.
You should have done it before the decay started.

CTS
Are there any differences in the content on a Christian TV station? What defines a Christian station? I know they have to make money, but have you seen the commercials they run?
Their sponsors advertise false Eastern religions while they flog Tai-Chi, Acupuncture, and other things like bracelets with hidden powers ...
Their sponsors advertise a cross with "magic". Can you possibly promote 2 more opposite ideas at the same time? Surely advertising something that is supposed to be "Christian" can be sold without linking it to the occult? Hello? Anyone with any discernment work there?
Now I see their sponsors are advertising the religion of evolution with their "Walking With Dinosaurs" myth. They broadcast "65 million years in the making". No wonder science is butchered so badly ...

The Afterlife....
The wisdom of the lost.
At the end of one of the episodes of Boston Legal, Denny Crane and Allen Short are on their balcony having another 'deep' discussion.
DC: "When you get to be my age, you worry about the afterlife. Where you're heading. Do you ever think about those things?"
AS: "Sometimes. Then I remember what Mark Twain said ... You go to Heaven for the climate, but to Hell for the company ... so no matter what ... in the end ..."
DC: "We'll be together".
AS: "Indeed".
DC: "Soul mates in Hell. I love it."
=============================
Wow. Really? You will love being in a "lake of fire" ... in torment for eternity?
It is so easy to say those words. What nonsense. You won't last 3 seconds before you would give anything to have made different decisions in your life.
It's amazing how many people dedicate their lives to living immoral lives, ignoring God, squirreling their money away in RRSPs, without a single thought for their Eternal Plan ... but as we know, once you die, you cannot change your destination.

Medical Records.
Recently my doctor died. He had been my physician for more than 44 years. His family was so thankful for my business that they did not allow me to go to the office to pick up my records. They gave them or sold them to another company who charges a ransom to get them. It is a sad way to be remembered. I don't know why his family did this. He was such a kind man, I think he would really be upset to learn that his patients had been treated in such a fashion.
I had no choice but to pay the ransom to get my medical records. The company charging the ransom is called Docudavit. They charged me a lot of money just to hand over the files they were given. And they charged an extra $18 to mail them.
Of course Canada Post doesn't deliver them. They put a card in our mail box, and the next day I went to the post office and they had sent them back already. I e-mailed Canada Post to find out why they returned them before we even had a chance to pick them up. Someone there named Pamella L. replied to my e-mail and I sent her further information and questions. Three e-mails to her without the courtesy of a single response. Union people. Tax dollars going to good work! They should call it Apathy Post.
So Docudavit said I could pick them up. I told them I would pick them up that Wednesday. Before driving out there on Wednesday I called them to confirm, and the woman said the records were not there. She said she would look for them and call me back when they found them. The next day (Thursday) I recieved a call from a different woman there who ask if I had "forgotten" to pick them up. I told her that they had lost them and were supposed to call me when they found them. She said they were not lost and had been there the whole time. Brilliant. So the next day (Friday), I drove to Docudavit which ended up being a run down building with no sign and no offices. I walked in the front door and there were people sitting in a run down room with nothing but a bunch of flat tables in it. People were sitting at the tables eating take-out fast food. I ask "Is this Docudavit?" and a man said "Sort of". That is reassuring, that my medical records are in a company that has no clue who they even are. When I said I was there to pick up my medical records, a woman asked me if I was ... and listed 3 names of people of which one was my name. I could have said any one of the names, but I told her my name, and she handed me my file. I didn't have to sign anything, show I.D., or any kind of proof of who I was at all. They just gave my entire history of medical records to someone who walked in the door and chose one of the names they offered. Wow.
Such total incompetence.

Good vs. Evil.
Have you noticed how easily things that most people use for good, can be used for evil?
As a photographer, I am aware of how a camera can be used to capturing images testifying to the glory of God, but it can also be perverted to promote all forms of pornography. All of which are evil.
A doctor can use their medical training to help others, but they can also sink to the level of being instruments of death, performing abortions or euthanasia.
Guns can be used by the Police and military to enforce justice and law. They can also be used to kill by those carrying out a crime.
The internet can be used for good but so much of it is filth.
Never before has there been so great a need to put on the Armour of God every day.

Baby On Board
Is it just me, or are the worst drivers on the roads the ones with the "Baby On Board" yellow cards hanging in the rear window? Like it gives you the right to cut others off, speed, change lanes without looking, ignore your mirrors, and make illegal turns.
The sign should read "Bad Driver On Board". Sticking that sign in your window doesn't make you a better driver, being a better driver makes you one.

Olympic Closing Ceremonies
That was a brilliant touch, to make fun of the pillar that didn't work in the opening ceremonies. And then to allow Catriona Lemay Doan to light it was great. What a neat idea.
It was great to hear Ben Hepner again. The last time I heard him sing was at our church.
William Shatner was initially funny, but his swearing was unnecessary and lacked real class on an international stage. Bill, you don't need a potty mouth to be funny.
Michael J. Fox made a courageous appearance, but his selfish politics have caused me to lose all respect for him. He would allow children to be killed to find a cure for his disease. Yet in reality, the only discoveries made from stem cells have ALL be from adult stem cells. Michael, think about others.
Then another sleazy rock group ... and more swearing ... again, no class. Glorifying drunkenness and selfish behaviour. Is this the best music group we could get? Really? How embarrassing.
Then another sleazy rock group ... singing about taking off all of someone's clothes, and and posing like Playboy. Good ... promoting pornography. Oh Canada.
Seems this Bilingual country has no bilingual closed caption typists.
It ended with a really bad rap, which would put anyone to sleep.

Canadian GOLD
I was surprised to hear the media asking the Canadians why they were so far behind the USA in the medal count last week. Are there only 2 countries in the Olympics?
Canada won more Gold medals than any country ever has in the history of the Winter Games. They won 4 more Gold medals than the USA. And we have about 1/10th the population.

Canadian Curlers - Team of 6
Yahoo.com has reported the following about our Canadian Curling team:
"As with all curling teams, Team Canada features five members. Well, six, if you really want to get technical with it."
Why six? Because one of the women is pregnant. We all know that a baby is a person ... it is just nice when the media reports the facts correctly. I guess when you decide not to kill your baby, is the only time you can call it a baby.

Olympic Condoms
I heard a report that they have handed out more than 100,000 condoms at the winter Olympics to the athletes, coaches, and trainers.
Wow. I would rather not know facts like this, and just assume that people are acting decently.
But long gone are the days of healthy shame, and respect for one another.

Guardasil
How tragic that parenting is so devoid of character, so lacking trust and mentoring, that they assume the worst of their children. Imagine telling your child that you don't even trust her with her own body. They claim to be trusting, while at the same time trying to inoculate them rather than mentor them and trust them.
This is a basic question of morality. If you teach children by example that you are nothing more than mindless baboons that cannot live in a moral way, then perhaps you do need to protect them from their own poor choices.
Here's a thought. Make good choices.
If you went into your child's bedroom, and found her playing Russian Roulette with a revolver, which would be your response:
1 - leave without saying anything ... (apathy)
2 - take the revolver from her hand and give her a revolver with 12 chambers instead of 6 (reduce the risk)
3 - speak to her about how much God loves her, and how valuable she is.
Option 2 is the solution that the media and society and even the schools push on everyone. Handing out condoms or getting the promiscuous vaccine does nothing but reduce the risk. It does not protect the child, nor is it safe. It could perhaps be called safer....but certainly not safe.
There is so much focus on the negative, that it is difficult to see the simple solution. You concentrate on the positive, not the negative. You do what you should have been doing their whole lives, and talking to them about God, and His plan for them, and how very much He loves each one of them. He created them and their worth comes from Him, not from family nor friends. You tell children that they are accidents of nature, and overdeveloped baboons, and they will start acting like them.
HPV is spreading like wildfire, and condoms have little effect against the spread of this VD ... which is the only reason they worked so hard on getting this vaccine. Because you cannot tell people that there are dangers with acting immorally.

Winter Olympic Opening
What a disappointment the opening ceremonies were. What they presented as typical Canadian culture was anything but typical. Certainly foreign to most Canadians. There was no mention of the Christian values that built this country, our laws, and our culture. As more and more we are throwing out those values, the country has been spiraling downward in a rapid decay of morality.
I was hoping that Stephen Harper would throw out the first snowball. Someone was sitting behind him that looked like a wild turkey had flown through his ears and got stuck in his head.

In this high-tech age, do we really need to lip-sync everything? Nobody there would have made the podium for that skill. The mics were not big enough to hide the goofs.
Congratulations are due to Phil Robertson (a classmate in school and friend in my youth) for making the orchestra and being the drummer of choice for all of Canada. Well done Phil!

The best we as a country can do is a homosexual singing "Hallelujah"? (which means "Praise the Lord!") ... Is that hypocrisy or irony of Olympic proportion? I spoke with a friend who thought she was a man. Let's not speculate.
It was great to see Bobby Orr - "the best hockey player of all time" there. And my wife's classmate in high school Wayne Gretzky (a close second) as well. Phil also went to West Humber C.I. ... makes me wonder who else at the opening ceremonies went there?
The mechanical problem with the final lighting of the cauldron has been glossed over, but it was apparent that the people standing there were upset with the problems. The replays have been cropped so you cannot see the hole in the stage, and they just show the top becoming lit. If they didn't have the outdoor one with all 4 pillars people may not have even noticed there was a problem. It reminded me of the SkyDome opening, where the roof did not close fast enough and the rain hit the stage and the dancers were slipping and falling.
There was a speech where someone said that young Olympic athletes are the role models and hope for people all over the world. Really? Hope? They are just people with the same faults as any other person. Some are cheaters, use drugs, foul language, steroids, etc. The message many portray is win at all costs. This is not the message to send to young people. They need role models with character.
It was wonderful that they had a moment of silence to remember the man who died earlier that day. Too bad the gospel was not presented as well. Jesus is the hope for all mankind. Not athletes. There are no guarantees for tomorrow ... no matter what your circumstances nor age.

Boston Legal - ethics on abortion.
I watched an episode if Boston Legal recently where there was a young Chinese girl who was pregnant and wanted to abort her baby. Her mother thought she would be traumatized for the rest of her life and would not give her consent. The young girl would now need a legal "bypass" to bypass her duty to honour her parents. Of course the law is there for allowing you to dishonour your parents.
The Shirley Schmidt character (played by Candice Bergen) was not comfortable with the case, and didn't think the state should be superseding the will of the parents in a family matter. She also hinted that her character had had an abortion in the past. No doubt her remorse and regret was what she was trying to save this girl from. Then she found out that the baby was only being destroyed because the girl discovered she was female. After Shirley requested to be removed from the case, and denied ... she stood up in court and gave this speech:
"In addition to being Kim's advocate, I'm also a woman. It is my opinion that my client seeks to terminate this pregnancy because the child she is carrying is female. As a matter of public policy the abortion laws were intended to liberate women, not eradicate them. Sex selection should shock the sensibility of this court. In India almost 500,000 female babies are aborted every year because the gender is considered inferior. In China it's become epidemic, and according to our own census polls - U.S. born children of Chinese parents tend to be male. It's female infanticide. It is sexism, it is vile, and I am not going to be part of it. I am not going to stay silent while we let the abortion license be exploited to accomplish the Holocaust of women."
Well, I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised at the language chosen. For once a show is acknowledging that the baby is a life, and that it has value. She actually said "the baby that she is carrying". Usually they call the baby a fetus, as if calling it that makes it easier to "eradicate" them (to use her words). They acknowledge that abortion was legalized to "liberate" women so that they could fornicate without responsibility, and be 'free' of adult responsibilities. How little they value the worth of a woman.
And of course, if life did not begin at conception (as science has now proven - with unique DNA), then she could never call it "infanticide". Of course to Shirley only female babies appear to have value, but it is certainly a step in the right direction. You are allowed to eradicate boy babies, just not girl babies.
Well done to the creators of Boston Legal for presenting such a solid and direct argument for valuing life. You addressed the psychological well-being of the mother, the pain it causes the mother and all family members, the seriousness of this issue (calling it infanticide), the incredibly large numbers of babies being eradicated around the world, and the lack of legal protection for the pre-born. The song in the background ... "the times are a-changing" ... was also encouraging to hear. Let's hope that they are a-changing for the better.
Unfortunately, the baby girl was not protected by her mother, nor the state, and the girl won her motion to eradicate this one baby girl - to the dismay of her grandmother, and Shirley - and the baby girl who died of course. We hear at the end, the Alan Shore character admit that he eradicated two of his own children. How very sad. The show ends there, but what we won't see is the mother's struggle with the consequences and remorse of her action for the rest of her life.
Yes, it is thankfully a fictitious event, and all 4 babies mentioned in it that were destroyed were not real, but the seriousness and the numbers are real and were even understated here. And they did not present the Gospel, so the hope that is available was not shared.

CNN won't report on 2 Christian ministers murdered in Florida
I heard about this event while watching the Michael Coren show. I searched CNN for the names of the victims, and like other "news" media they are not reporting on this.
Why? America really does hate Christians. And Florida is the state that starved a handicapped woman to death in front of the whole world.
Here is the story: (Link to story here)
According to the Boynton Beach police, simply sharing the word of God on the street is what brought two ministers to the man who killed them. Tite Sufra, 24, and Stephen Ocean, 23, were shot and killed Saturday night after meeting Jeriah Woody, 18. They witnessed to Woody for fifteen minutes when he got a phone call and told the preachers he 'had to go.' As they walked away, Woody suddenly started walking back toward them. Sufra walked up to greet him and was killed with a shot gun blast at point blank range. When Ocean ran, he was shot in the back. After he fell, Woody shot him in the head execution style. Woody was arrested Wednesday and is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
"As of today, there are no national news organizations reporting this vicious murder of two innocent Christian men. Why?" Cass said, "I'll ask this: If two Muslims, or two feminists or two homosexuals were murdered, wouldn't the media be all over it? These were two fine young black Christian men shot by another black man for their Christian faith, yet the media does not seem to care."
Cass continued: "It is an ominous sign of our times that Christians are being shot on the streets and in our churches. Last year Jim Pullion was killed while holding pro-life signs in front of his granddaughter's Owasso Michigan high school. Rev. Fred Winters was murdered while preaching in his pulpit in Maryville, Illinois. Increasingly we see Christian ministers threatened and churches terrorized and vandalized for their stand on marriage. Now when Christians gather for worship they must have armed security. Anti-Christian defamation and bigotry has helped to create this violent climate and it must stop."

Planned Parenthood
.
They threatened to sue CBS, over the Super Bowl ad promoting life, because they are so outraged that someone would choose one of the choices that the pro-choice people are supposed to support. They were outraged even though the ad does not even mention abortion. They too are not pro-choice at all, they are pro-abortion. No surprise to anyone is it?
Their name makes you think that their goal is to help parents plan for the arrival of their new family member, conceived and growing in the safety of their mother's womb. Yet, everyone knows it is the opposite, as their threats bear out.

Oh, the irony.
Did you hear the clip of the kid that married Demi Willis - where he said "Tim Tebow should just play football. Nobody cares what he thinks about abortion."
That has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard anyone say. Hey kid - if you didn't care, then why are you so upset about it and why are you even whining about it? You're not only dishonest, but you're also a hypocrite. Surprise, surprise - a hypocrite in hollywood. Why didn't the interviewer tell him to "just try to act. Nobody cares that you promote abortion.".
Yet again proving that these so-called "pro-choice" people don't allow choice at all. They are really pro-abortion. They just are not honest. But what would you expect from people that make a living from mocking Godly values, and perverting the true meaning of love?
This is kid is angry - no doubt because Tim Tebow represents the character and values of what a real man is. What a contrast to this whiny hypocrite.
Tim, regardless of who feels really poorly about their own life when contrasted with what you represent ... don't let it get to you. You will be persecuted by those living in darkness. Their anger is at themselves. They lash out at you, for having the courage and integrity that they wish they had.
Blessings.

Tim Tebow - man of character.
Mocked by the Cackle Crew on The View.
I am so thankful that other people sit through all the nonsense on "The View" so that I don't have to! LOL
You knew it was coming ... as soon as those pro-abortion women get wind of a TV ad for the Super Bowl that is not in line with their personal views - they attack it. Their minds are as closed as they could be.
They call themselves pro-choice - but this example yet again proves the deceit in the their claims. They are not for choice at all. This ad (produced by Focus on the Family) promotes one of the "choices" they are supposed to be FOR. They are NOT pro-choice at all. They are pro-abortion. At least have the integrity to be honest.
The ad is about Tim Tebow and his mother, and how she decided NOT to abort her baby, despite her doctor recommending it after she had a life-threatening infection during her pregnancy. The doctors expected Tim to be stillborn, but his mother protected her child. She loved him to life. Now he is a famous football star and Heisman Trophy winner. The first sophomore to do so.
Tim nad his parents are Christians, and the women on the view hate God, and hate Christians. They hate anyone who has a different view than they do. Their show should be called "The ONLY View", since they clearly are intolerant of other views.
For people who claim to be pro-choice, this ad is about the OTHER choice. The choice to love your baby. The choice to keep the life that has begun in you, and protect and care for them, even if you give your baby and another family the precious gift of adoption.
The ad does not even use the word "abortion". So why are these self-proclaimed "pro-choice" women so upset about an ad that could save many lives? Why are they angry at women who make different choices than THEY do? I'd like to hear that these intolerant women have on their show some day, a person that is the result of a rape. I would like to hear that they look this woman in the eye, and tell her that she should not be here. That she should have been aborted. It's so easy to marginalize and belittle people when they are not sitting right there. Do they ever quote the numbers of suicides from women who can't handle their choice? Or the depression and guilt?
This is not a difficult issue. For the Christian it is not even an option. No authentic Christian is pro-choice, because they know that murder is sin, and throughout scripture we are told how God has known us since we were in the womb. We also know that we are judged on what they condone. And we know that science has proven that at the very time of conception, there is unique DNA. Proof of new life. Isn't it funny how they only use science when it serves their political purpose.
Why do people on The View get so angry over this? Why are they so intolerant? They profess to be pro-choice, but get angry if you choose life. So on top of being intolerant, they are dishonest.
These are the women that so many look to for wisdom?
Well done Tim Tebow! Bless you for having the courage to stand up for what is right, no matter how unpopular. Your integrity outshines and stands tall over all the bigotry those on the view can spew at you and everyone else with Godly morals.
Keep it up ...

State of the Union ... hypocrisy from the top ...
Obama, the abortion president, made some interesting comments during his speech. His hypocrisy continues...
We all know he claimed to be a Christian, despite his clearly pagan views, and despite the fact that he had no problem attending a racist church, and choosing to ingest their teachings for 20 years. That is, until he decided to run for office, and knew he had better distance himself.
And of course he claimed on national TV - when asked when life began - said that the answer was "above my pay grade". Which clearly is a lie, since he immediately passed laws to allow the killing of the preborn. Only someone that knows for sure when life begins, would pass laws to encourage and promote the slaughter of the most vulnerable citizens under his protective responsibility. Everything he says, and everything he does, proves that he has no clue what a Christian is. At least have the integrity to be honest. Don't pretend to be what you clearly are not.
Back to his speech:
He said he supported the discriminatory practice of prosecuting hate crimes.
I don't know who came up with the idea that we should have hate crimes ("thought police") - but there is perhaps no greater threat to our freedom than this. The idea that some people in society are more valuable than others is repugnant. Hate crime laws are, by definition, disciminatory, and therefore should be abolished. For discrimination to be promoted by a leader is appalling.
Someone sits down and creates a "list". This is the list of "preferred people". People that can be hated. Of course ALL people can be hated. The notion that there are "preferred people" for whom a stricter penalty will be enforced if an equal crime is committed against them, over someone who is not on this "preferred people" list, is discriminatory. It is also illogical, biased, unfair, and quite evil.
The law is supposed to be applied EQUALLY to everyone. There should not be 2 classes of people. Those ON the list, and those unworthy of making it to the list. The problem is that this list should have EVERY PERSON on it - and therefore NEGATES the very purpose of having the list. You could argue that the person deciding who is not worthy to make "the list" is rejecting them out of hatred. Oh the irony.
For example. A woman who is walking down the street is assaulted. Her attacker is caught and sentenced to 3 days in jail (welcome to Canada). A male homosexual is assaulted to the same degree and the attacker is caught and given 1 year in jail because someone decided that it was based on hatred and applied to the victim because they were on "the list" of preferred people.
Who has the right to decide that the woman in this example is not as valuable a person as the man? It is absurd. We are all equal and should be treated equally under that law. All crimes are hate crimes. You wouldn't assault someone if you didn't hate them. The reason for the hatred is irrelevant.
The very concept of dishing out sentencing in such an unequal manner should offend everyone.
A person is free to think and feel however they wish. To punish people for how they think is very, very dangerous. Just wait to see how Christians will be persecuted further using the idiocy of this way of thinking.
We cannot claim to want equality when we promote such thoughtless and cruel discriminatory policies. In fact, the more open and free people are to discuss issues, the more likely that their hatred will be exposed and can be dealt with. Gagging their free speech is like sweeping the problem under a carpet.

Whoopi Doo Duh!
I heard a clip of Whoopi from The View - no I don't watch it - ... for reasons exactly like this nonsense ...
She was so angry that Pat Robertson gave his view of who he thought caused the earthquake. We all have an opinion on this. Stating an opinion is no test for truth. You can believe the moon is made of cheese, or there was no holocaust, or that we evolved from guppies ... but that doesn't make any of them true.
She said "I'm sick and tired of people saying they know who caused the earthquake. .... It was Mother Nature that caused it! "
So she criticizes someone else for stating their opinion and then she gives hers. In fact she gets paid for giving her ungodly opinion. She just doesn't tolerate anyone else having an opinion. Her opinion is better. She is better. She is intolerant. What she means is that she is angry that not everyone in the world thinks the same way she does. She doesn't even define who Mother Nature is. It is just a fictitious name, that most people (who deny the existence of Father God) give to Him in an effort to strip Him of His glory. They worship the creation instead of the creator.
Oh, the irony ... Whoopi don't you have another rally to go to where you can vent your anger and scream at people for having the audacity to defend human life?

Dumpster Devotions.
Doesn't it break your heart when you hear about children being saved, and their parents refusing for them to even have a Bible in their house? This story about the young Jewish lady who was saved, and the parents refused her to have a Bible in the house nor speak about her faith honestly.
This young lady had to sneak out and get her Bible from a friend who keeps it for her, and in order to prevent any of her friends from 'reporting her' to her parents, she would read it in an empty dumpster for 3 hours. What a glorious example of love for God. This should be an example for all of us who are free to read but don't do it as often as we should.
It reminds me of a friend at church who told of his parents disowning him when he was saved as a teenager. He actually watched his own funeral from a distance where his parents pretended to bury him (an empty casket) because he was dead to them for becoming one of the 'few' who will see heaven. Can there be anything more ironic? He received eternal life, and they put him into the ground as if he were dead. So the dead were burying life. Those lost in darkness were burying the light.
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven"
Matthew 5:11-12

Hyphenated Relationships
Have you noticed how many fractured surnames there are today? I don't know if it is a craze, or people aren't quite sure if they plan to stick with the marriage, or they are wanting people to know they are not one flesh, but two people joined by a hyphen.
Consider the long term impact of this. Someone named Smith-Jones ends up marrying someone named Watkinson-Maclean. Would their married surname be Smith-Jones-Watkinson-Maclean? Where does it end? Their child meets someone named Frankish-Johnston-Peabody-Roberts, and they end up with a surname of Smith-Jones-Watkinson-Maclean-Frankish-Johnston-Peabody-Roberts or is it Frankish-Johnston-Peabody-Roberts-Smith-Jones-Watkinson-Maclean?
This is not just about tradition, unity and becoming ONE flesh. A lot of it is just common sense, but I don't recall ever seeing this before the feminist movement started. I have heard women advising other married women with advice for safeguarding themselves against the devastation of divorce. If you plan for divorce, then you are no longer operating in a life long covenant. So many people don't understand the difference between a promise and a covenant.
Have you ever been to a wedding where God was not invited? It is empty, dark, and very sad. It breaks my heart.

The Case for Atheism
Wow. In a word ... Amazing.
This 2-DVD debate between Tood "Freakishly Tall" Friel (Wretched Radio), and an atheist named Dan.
This is a powerful debate. Not really fair, because Todd has the Armour of God, the Sword of the Spirit, history, science, ethics, and the law on his side. Poor Dan has only feelings. One of those feelings is hatred for God.
It needs to be stated that there is no such thing as an atheist. An atheist is someone who claims "There is no God." This is a self-defeating statement. In order to state this, you would need to know everything there is to know about everything in the universe. That would make you God, which is the opposite of your posit.
Dan claimed to have been a Christian in the past, but described someone who doesn't understand the basics of what it means to be a Christian. Clearly - even today - he doesn't know what a Christian is. He said he drove all around for years trying to "earn" good works. This clearly demonstrates that he doesn't understand what separates Christianity from all other religious systems. It is not about works. You cannot earn your way to heaven. He said he spoke in tongues, and could still speak in tongues. Another clear sign he is not truthful. He doesn't believe there is a spirit, but he can display it? Wow. He kept using the phrase "fruits" of the spirit. Scripture does talk about the "fruit" of the spirit. It is not plural. Yet another thing he does not understand.
He described his mother, who also claimed to have been a Christian in the past, but felt so happy after becoming an atheist, because she didn't have to "HATE" any more. What a perverted idea of what it means to be saved. Scripture clearly teaches that if you claim to be a Christian, but you hate anyone, you are a liar, and guilty of murder. (1 John 2:9, 1 John 3:15) It really makes you wonder what kind of sick cult this family was indoctrinated into. It breaks my heart to see someone so lost, so full of hate, while claiming to know what light is. It sounds like he has replaced his hatred for people with a hatred for God.
This is a great DVD. I highly recommend it for everyone.

The Shack
If you embrace universalism and love heresy - this book is for you! There are many websites and sermons written by solid teachers pointing out the many heresies in this book.
One of the best I've seen is this one:
http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=56872791
There are plenty of good books about God out there that are Biblical and theologically sound.
Read something edifying. Don't fund this kind of heretical writing. It hurts the bride.
