Good Friday ... now Earth day?

Is it really surprising that a secular Godless world would choose to worship the creation rather than the Creator?  (Rom 1:25) How sad.  And very sad for a company like Google who chose the new pagan worship day today instead of the single most important day in the whole year for each and every person on the earth.

The day that Jesus chose to sacrifice Himself to the most brutal of torture, mocking, spitting, whipping, beating, and finally being nailed to a cross.  Why did He do this?  Why would God come to this Earth He created?  He came to seek and save the lost.  That's you.  That's me.  Well, that was me.  I was lost ... living in darkness.  Unaware of my wretchedness.  But - praise God - I am no longer living in darkness.  I am no longer skipping down the broad road to destruction.

Good Friday ... the day that the sins of the world - for the "few" who would repent and trust in Jesus - were taken upon our Lord.  An event so magnificent that all of our dating is based upon it.  An event that on the 3rd day was confirmed by the miracle of a bodily resurrection, witnessed by hundreds of people.  This event so transformed the world, that even thousands of years later ... is impacting the lost in a profound way.

Please take some time this Good Friday to appreciate His sacrifice for you.
